There are so many things to like about this water bottle: excellent portability, essentially spill proof (even for me!), keeps my ice water cold for hours, and it can go in the dishwasher (I won’t buy a water bottle that can’t go in there.

The only downside is washing the cap. I knew I would need to handwash the straw as I do all of my reusable steel straws, but taking the cap apart to wash it decently is a “thing” for this neurospicy woman. I have to remember to pull out the red rubber thingy before I even start or I can’t get it out, then I have to scrub it with my dish brush, my straw brush, and this other funky little brush that fits in that tight space that screws onto the bottle itself. It may not seem like a “thing” for neurotypical folks, but that’s a lot of steps and nooks and crannies for some of us divergent folks. I think I have a good routine now, so it’s definitely in the rotation with my beloved Yetis.

I purchased 2 of these and both of them developed rust because the stainless steel is clearly a low quality batch. My first bottle began to rust at the rim within 3 weeks, the second lasted about 4 months before rust started. The rims are getting progressively worse, and cleaning them just results in the rust coming back.

The extremely frustrating part... despite this being a manufacturing defect Hydro Flask expects me to pay to ship back the defective bottles! I bought these and provided photos to the support team, but it costs so much to mail them back that I would rather put the money towards a different product somewhere else. So disappointing, especially for a premium bottle that should last for years and years. My older HydroFlask bottles never had this issue and I hope the rest of my new ones fare better.

We bought this for our daughter for her birthday. She studied many brands of “expensive” water bottles and chose hydro flask. One week of school it slipped out of side pocket of back pack (in the school) and has two very large dents. I have never spent this much money on a water bottle for myself nor anyone else, but this is what she wanted for her birthday. A $45 water bottle should not sustain large dents with one drop, especially indoors. . I contacted hydro flask with situation. They offered for me to send the water bottle back (I pay shipping) and they would send us a $5 coupon to buy another one. What a joke! I will never buy another hydro flask. Do not recommend! Poor quality! DO NOT BUY! Waste of money

I love the limited edition checkerboard design that I got! To be honest I take this water bottle everywhere I go, sometimes in restaurants without even noticing I have it in my hands. I ONLY drink water, I use to hate the metal after taste I would get but with the straw I can no longer taste that. It’s amazing resourceful and environmentally friendly. This sounds like a promo but I just genuinely love this hydroflask! One thing that I don’t really like is the mouth piece for the straw isn’t rubbery like the older hydro I have, but I feel like it is easier to clean the full plastic piece though. Another thing… my boyfriend has one and he works outside all day and his hydro flask still has ice in it by the end of the day!
